Baba Yaga

Baba Yaga is an Eastern European version of a witch. Rather than riding on a broomstick, Baba Yaga rides in a mortar propelled by a pestle.
Baba Yaga lives in house which runs about on chicken legs. Baba Yaga's teeth are reputably made of stone or knife blades.
Although Baba Yaga has become the stereotype monster to frighten children, she was originally known as a primal Goddess.
Sometimes Baba Yaga is portrayed as being a generous peasant who will lend her belongings to anyone who goes to her for help.
According to some legends Baba Yaga controls the fire-breathing dragon Chudo-Yudo who guards the water of life.
